About This Course
This course is perfect for existing practitioners who want further training or a formal qualification, specialising in radiofrequency microneedling treatments.
There will be:
- Theory training.
- Practical training in the Lynton Clinic with models.
- Practical assessment (a few weeks after the initial training in the Lynton Clinic).
- Assignment covering skin theory.
All training will take place in our state-of-the-art Training Academy at Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
You will learn how to perform skin needling treatments with three different needling technologies and varying application methods.
On completion, you will receive your full qualification and certificate.
Dates
Day 1: Monday 07th April 2025: Theory training with device demonstrations.
Day 2: Tuesday 08th April 2025: Practical skin needling training – face and body.
Day 3: Wednesday 09th April 2025: Practical radiofrequency skin needling training – face and body.
Day 4: Tuesday 20th May 2025: Theory and practical examinations.
All delegates will attend 3 days of training and 1 day of assessment in total.
Prerequisites
Course entry requirements:
- A Level 4 Qualification in Skin Needling is required to take this course.
Course Agenda
The course will cover the following areas:
- Anatomy & Physiology – understanding the skin and how needling works.
- Conditions suitable for treatment including: lines, wrinkles, skin slackness, open pores, scars and stretch marks.
- Different skin-types – the Fitzpatrick Scale, younger and older skin, skin thickness and areas of treatment.
- Benefits and limitations of radiofrequency needling - how this compares to regular needling.
- Treatment planning – making recommendations on how many treatments and how often.
- How to optimise results – considering treatment combinations (i.e. skin peels, retinols AHAs, skin boosters, LED lights) and lifestyle, for each individual client.
- Radiofrequency – what it is and when/how to best utilise it (considering insulated and non-insulated needles and settings).
- Needle size – the depths required for face and body treatments.
- Pre/post skincare – how best to advise clients on enhancing their treatment results and improving the healing process.
- Pain control – the laws and regulations around the management of pain.

Practical Applications
During the practical element of this course you will be able to perform treatments on live models using the industry-leading Focus Dual radiofrequency device which is exclusive to Lynton in the UK.
You will be shown how to set up the device, change the settings and learn the various methods used to perform radiofrequency microneedling treatments.
We will be looking to treat a variety of conditions including;
- Rejuvenation and collagen stimulation
- Scars – acne, surgical and accidental
- Stretch marks
- Hair restoration.

Course Leader
Kirsty Turnbull
After qualifying as a Beauty Therapist in 2002, Kirsty very quickly discovered a passion for skin and lasers. She has been using lasers and IPL systems since 2003, and joined Lynton as a Clinical Trainer in 2008.
In 2010 she became the manager of the Lynton Clinic, but continued to run a variety of training courses. She has completed her VTCT Level 4 Laser and Light Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation qualification as well as the L5 in Laser Tattoo Removal. She is also a qualified assessor.
In 2018 she became the Education Lead at Lynton lasers, and is now responsible for the organisation and delivery of the Lynton VTCT qualifications. She still administers treatments at the Lynton Clinic, keeping her skills and knowledge completely up to date.
