FAQs

How does vascular lesion treatment work?

Both intense pulsed light and laser systems emit wavelength of light which are readily absorbed by blood vessels. These are then heated to a point at which they are destroyed. Following treatment, the vessels quickly clear as they are absorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

Lasers work by selectively targeting certain chromophores; a chromophore being simply something that absorbs light. There are three 3 main chromophores in the skin; melanin, haemoglobin and water. This means that vascular lesions such as Campbell de Morgan spots, Port Wine Stains and visible thread veins can be targeted by lasers or light systems that target haemoglobin. If the wavelength and pulse duration of light is chosen correctly, then these lesions can be removed or faded effectively, whilst ensuring that the surrounding tissue is unaffected.

Which types of vascular lesions and veins can be treated and how?

most superficial red skin lesions including facial thread veins, rosacea, spider naevi, port wine stains are treated with Intense Pulse Light.

At Lynton we would suggest treating deeper vessels with our Nd:YAG (1064nm) such as leg veins up to 3mm in diameter.

Amazing results can be created in just a few steps. Simply bring the light applicator to the skin, activate the handpiece and a short pulse of light is released. The applicator is then moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated. During treatment, protective eyewear will be provided.

Are there any side effects with laser and IPL vascular lesion treatments and how does the treatment feel?

After treatment the area may feel warm for a few hours. Rarely some delicate skin areas such as the cheeks or decollete can be slightly red and swollen for up to 48 hours. Though very rare, there is a chance a small blister may form and there could temporary lightening and darkening of the skin.

Vascular treatments can be mildly uncomfortable but there is no need for anaesthesia and the procedure is very quick. Sensations vary but most describe is as a very quick hot pin prick.

How many sessions are necessary for effective vascular lesion treatment?

Typically 3 to 5 treatments are needed for maximum results, though small vascular lesions may clear in just a single session. For specific vascular treatments such as Rosacea an ongoing treatment plan may be need to be created with the specific client in mind to manage and make sure expectations are met. We would suggest for safety and effective results that repeat treatments should be spaced every 4 to 6 weeks.

Amongst customers already enjoying the benefits of this technology Dr Phillip Hampton PhD FRCP from Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust says: “This Lumina is delivering excellent results for our rosacea patients with widespread facial telangiectasia”.

How long does a 3JUVE treatment take?

A typical 3JUVE treatment takes approximately 1 hour, improvement is evident after the first session, but for optimal results, 3 to 5 treatment sessions are often advised. Treatment is carried out every 2 to 6 weeks depending upon the level of rejuvenation required.

What makes the LUMINA® stand out above other multifunctional IPL & Laser platforms?

The LUMINA® has a number of unique features, including its patented power supply which can support an Active Q-Switched tattoo removal articulated arm rather than having this in a handpiece form. This is clinically proven to clear pigment much faster by breaking the ink into smaller particles through higher peak power capability. The Addition of the 650 Advanced Hair Removal handpiece will combine the LUMINA’s high power output with optimal efficiency for greater hair removal results on finer lighter hairs. The LUMINA® is manufactured in the UK which means parts and engineers are readily available.

What should I expect before a 3JUVE treatment?

All 3JUVE® treatments start with an advanced consultation to determine your specific goals. The treatment can then be tailored to your individual skin depending on your main concerns. Whether you are concerned with discolouration, loss of firmness or lines and wrinkles the 3JUVE® procedure can be customised to ensure the best possible results for your skin.

Customer Testimonials

Having recently made the decision to set up a new service in The Fylde Clinic we were looking for a suitable partner to provide laser hair and pigment removal. Lynton from the outset were very helpful and professional in the advice and support they provided. We opted for the Lynton, which has allowed our clinic to offer more cost-effective and safer treatment. Since the introduction of the laser, we feel the results have been superior to those we could have achieved with another laser machine or IPL.

The Fylde Clinic

"Thank you for these webinars, you’ve been so helpful! Looking forward to my online Core of Knowledge next week too!"

Helen Campbell, Clinic Director, Parkview Lasercare

Using the step-by-step marketing strategy from Lynton we have gathered so much interest from clients for our new Focus Dual! We’ve already confirmed bookings and we haven’t even launched the device yet! The support has been so unique, we have never purchased a system where everything we need has been laid out in front of us like this. We’ve used the supplied resources to easily complete our webpages, write blogs, and make social media posts about the device, the whole process is just so easy.

Kay Brown, Director, Fiji Skin Clinic

“Thank you for all the support you’ve shown us through what has been a very turbulent year, through educational workshops, webinars, as well as the guidance for health and safety procedures, ensuring clinics are COVID secure. You’ve been a huge support.”

Tej Ghag, Tej & Co

I am honoured to be the owner of the second clinic in the UK to receive this Microneedling device. The EPN Pen is easy to use, with great results and less downtime than my previous devices. The training was excellent and I love the serum, very little needed to achieve the right amount of glide and results.

Professor Rhoda MacKenzie, Medical Director, Age Reversal Therapies

Having worked with 3 different laser and IPL systems in the past, it is clear that the Lynton is far superior to any other. It has gone far beyond my expectations! The results we are seeing in just a few treatments are staggering, even a client who has struggled with PCOS for years has seen a huge improvement in just 2 sessions. As a clinic, we are very proud to be one of the first to offer treatments using this world-leading technology.

Radiant Skin

I've been working with various types of laser at my clinic for many years now. The most highly sought-after treatments are undoubtedly those for the aesthetic sector. For this reason, I believe that the new Motus AY system is a truly ground-breaking initiative for our sector. Motus AY is a compact low-cost system, yet it also has enormous potential. While the Moveo technology of the Motus AX system revolutionised the field of assisted laser epilation, now Nd:YAG has gone one step further, extending the range of possible treatments to all patients wanting to remove vascular blemishes from their face and legs. It’s the ideal system for professionals wanting to move into the world of laser, because with a relatively minor investment the medical centre can be equipped with a high-performance system and a broad range of treatments. It is also useful for centres with high demand for epilation and vascular treatments and which want to offer more patient treatments to increase their turnover.

Prof. Nicola Zerbinati, M.D., Department of Dermatology

The training delivered by Lynton is always informative, engaging and practical. The clinical update training is fantastic for refresher training and keeping up to date with new methods and tips. I would highly recommend Lynton to any clinic.

Aesthetics Awards Voting Entry 2019

We have been very pleased with the performance of the equipment that we have purchased from Lynton. More than that, Lynton provides an excellent all-round service. When I ask their advice, I am always impressed at the level of knowledge and expertise that exists in the company. We have a large NHS clinic as well as a private clinic and knowing that we can pick up the phone and always get an answer is important to us.

Professor Harry Moseley, Ninewells Hospital & Medical School, Dundee

Thanks so much Hayley at Lynton Lasers. I have taken your advice and just put out a video offering free video consultations on my Instagram. Really appreciative of all your advice right now!
