Access to Aesthetics

VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetics

VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies

The first true ‘access to aesthetics’ course that has been run by Lynton and VTCT, the Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies will enable anyone who does not have a level 3 beauty qualification to proceed onto other advanced qualifications.

The course covers the basics about the skin and body, consultation, electrical science, health and safety, and more. It is also suitable for qualified medical professionals who are new to aesthetics.

As part of this qualification, there will be a combination of online, classroom, and practical learning:

  • Online learning 80%  – approximately 80-100 hours
  • Practical training 20% – 2 days at the Lynton Training Academy

Dates are just for the practical days. You will need to have completed a portion of the online training before attending the practical days so we recommend that you register at least 4 weeks prior.

The course is split into 5 units:

Unit One: Anatomy and Physiology – Online Learning covering the function and structure of the skin, nails and hair as well as the cardiovascular, lymphatic endocrine, skeletal, digestive, respiratory and nervous system. It also investigates aspects of dermatology, microbiology and trichology.

Unit Two: Skin Analysis/Typing and Skin Preparation for Treatments – Online Learning and The Lynton Training Academy. The aim of this unit is to enable you to provide facial treatments to clients, working on the required areas of the face, neck and décolleté.

Unit Three: Health and Safety – Online Learning covering the principles of health and safety at work within a salon, clinic or spa. It introduces the key legislation and legal and regulatory factors that govern health and safety requirements and emergency procedures, and their importance in the aesthetics workplace.

Unit Four: Consultation and record keeping – Online Learning covering the principles of client care when providing professional consultations prior to and following treatments. Including knowledge and skills required to prepare for and carry out consultations, demonstrating a high standard of client care and communication skills.

Unit Five: Electrical Science – Online Learning to provide all of the necessary underpinning knowledge of electrical science, enabling you to understand the natural and physical science behind electrical beauty therapy treatments.

On successful completion, you will be rewarded with an OFQUAL regulated Level 3 VTCT award in Access to Aesthetic Therapies.
