Insulated microneedles have a layer of insulation around them, allowing heat to only be emitted from the tip. Heating only the lower layers of the skin, protecting the epidermis. These needles allow more cost effective treatments and also for safer treatment in individuals with darker skin types (4-6 on the Fitzpatrick scale), who are at higher risk of hyperpigmentation following treatment.
Non-insulated microneedles are active along the entire length and cause high volumetric heating, offering enhanced results, reduced infection, faster healing, and safer treatments. Treatments with non-insulated needles carry the advantages for shorter procedure time, less trauma, and less downtime
With the Focus Dual® RF microneedling device you now have the ability to customise the needle to the patient’s skin type and concern. See here for insulated vs non-insulated micro-needling treatment to further your understanding
