“One Shot” Stapedotomy

The SmartXide² Trio 3-in-1, with its combined CO2 and diode laser capabilities, is clinically validated and approved for the “One Shot” Stapedotomy procedure.

Up to a few years ago, the “one shot” stapedotomy technique required micromanipulators and scanning systems. With the SmartXide² Trio, surgeons can now perform this technique with minimal invasion via a high power diode laser, with low emission time.

The surgeon can set the the laser energy needed to make the plate hole with a single pulse – this ensures operative simplicity, safety, and precision.  

Easy Control

Use the EasySpot micromanipulator system  for ultimate control over laser surgery, and operate with ease without having to move your eyes from the microscope.

The “Easy Control” joystick offers four key laser functions, all of which can be quickly and easily controlled directly from the joystick itself:

Flexible Delivery in One Platform

Due to the availability of the cutting properties of CO2 and superior coagulation of Diode lasers in one platform, the SmartXide² Trio works especially well for microsurgical applications like ENT.

For those areas that have traditionally been very difficult to reach, the SmartXide² Trio’s 3-in-1 platform opens up surgical possibilities like never before.



High Power Diode Laser

The integration of a high power diode laser into the system means that the SmartXide² Trio allows surgeons to operate easily, even in the most difficult of conditions.

Offering superior coagulative properties in the same platform as CO2 as well as the flexibility of fibre optic delivery, surgeons can reach internal areas such as the middle ear and the turbinates with ease.

A broad selection of reusable (up to 10 times) fibre core diameters is also available, ranging from 200nm-600nm.



Hollow Wave Guide Fibre

SmartXide² Trio’s hollow wave guide fibre for CO2 is a whole new level in surgical flexibility. Used alone or in conjunction with handpieces in a wide range of sizes and shapes, the hollow wave guide fibre gives the surgeon unparalleled choice, accommodating surgical needs and preferences in both open and robot-assisted endoscopic surgery.

RF-Excited CO2 Laser Source & PSD® Technology

The SmartXide² Trio RF-excited CO2 Laser source has a high power and speed of action. Using both of these properties, the latest PSD® (Pulse Shape Design) technology generates variable peak pulses with differing structures, durations, and powers to adapt to various clinical conditions.

As a result, the SmartXide² Trio is exceptionally versatile and covers a wide range of surgical applications. It is especially useful in ENT applications, where the, U-Pulse and “Real CW” pulses are the most typically used. The U-Pulse is the ideal pulse for ENT microsurgery because it delivers tremendous energy in microseconds. This ensures precise ablation without tissue carbonisation.

Expansion of Premises to Facilitate Entry into Export Markets

To facilitate its entry into new export markets, Lynton Lasers Ltd required increased manufacturing space, as well as new demonstration and training facilities. To this end, LEADER Funding was applied for, and won, to support the refurbishment of an adjacent business unit (Unit 9d) as well as the re-arrangement and refurbishment of the existing business unit (Unit 6) on Holmes Chapel Business Park.
