FAQs

What treatments can the SmartPICO be used for?

Due to its market-leading flexibility the SmartPICO can be used to treat a wide variety of skin concerns, utilising two wavelengths, four emission modalities and a wide range of handpieces. It can be used to treat a range of skin issues, such as:

  • Removal of tattoos and benign pigmented lesions
  • Cafe-au-lait spots
  • Solar lentigo/freckles/ephelides
  • Ota and Ito Nevus,
  • Birthmarks
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Acne scars

The SmartPICO can also be used to deliver the in-demand carbon peel treatment (sometimes known as a “Hollywood facial”), which uses specialised carbon paste to clean impurities in the skin, encourage collagen and elastin production, and leave the skin looking younger and brighter.

Is the SmartPICO safe for all skin types?

The SmartPICO laser is a versatile and effective option for laser pigmentation removal on all skin types, including those with darker skin tones (include Fitzpatrick skin types 5 and 6) who may be more prone to hyperpigmentation or scarring from laser treatments. The SmartPICO is equipped with multiple dynamic handpieces, making it flexible enough to treat an array of conditions for all skin types. This flexibility means that it is customisable to meet the needs of every individual patient.

What is a Carbon Peel?

A carbon peel is a non-invasive laser treatment that deeply exfoliates the skin, stimulates collagen production, and treats a variety of mild to moderate skin concerns. The treatment involves applying a layer of liquid carbon to the skin, heating it with a Q-Switched laser, and then using the laser to fragment the carbon along with impurities such as oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. The carbon easily attracts toxins and impurities, making it an effective treatment for acne, pigmentation, enlarged pores, melasma, photoaging, fine lines, and wrinkles. The treatment is painless, requires no downtime, and is suitable for different skin types.

The SmartPICO is the ideal device for delivering carbon peel treatments, and the specialised DEKA Peel and DEKA Peel handpiece make delivering the treatment even easier!

What is a Picosecond Laser?

A picosecond laser delivers laser pulses with pulse durations that can be measured in picoseconds (trillionths of a second).

These lasers can deliver a much higher amount energy to the skin in shorter, faster bursts than nanosecond(billionths of a second) lasers, creating the photomechanical effect that shatters the targeted ink or pigment into even smaller fragments which can then be more easily eliminated by the body.

The SmartPICO is capable of delivering picosecond pulses at a very high peak power (nearly 2GW) to deliver superior clinical results.

How do I know if the SmartPICO laser system is the right choice for my clinic?

If you are interested in the SmartPICO and everything it can offer to you and your clinic, then get in touch with us! Our expert team would be happy to help you with any queries you have.

Customer Testimonials

“Thank you so much for your support this year. Your help from the webinars, reopening guidelines, coffee mornings, and the social media calendar has been fabulous. It would have been a very different year without you there for us.”

Helen Campbell, Parkview Lasercare

I have done 6 blepharoplasty in the last two weeks and the results are unbelievable with reduction of swelling and bruising - I am loving it and the patients too.  I saw my 4th patient today to remove her sutures! I cant believe how little edema and bruising she has. I will never go back to the scalpel again!"

Mr Ali Ghanem, Medical Director, Ghanem Clinic London - Bahrain and Cranley Clinic

We focus on the best products to deliver the best results to our clients and Lynton’s Light Protect SPF 50 is our Number 1 product. Created by an NHS Biochemist at the University College of London, this is a specifically formulated SPF 50 for all post Laser, IPL, and Minor Cosmetic treatments such as Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra. It contains Manuka Honey to calm inflammation after treatments and chemical and physical sunscreens provide high UVA and UVB protection - Boots have awarded it a 5-Star rating. We see a diverse demographic and clients often say they love using it as a moisturiser as it leaves no cast, absorbs well, and is long-lasting. We are passionate about this British-made product and our clients are too as, often when they are replacing it, they’ll buy two at a time!"

Janis Hendrickson , JH Skincare Clinic

I spent a long time searching for the most suitable laser company as I wanted a piece of equipment that would be very effective, safe and reliable. The nice thing about Lynton is that they don’t have, to or wont, do the hard sell approach with you: their equipment does that for them! I invested in a LUMINA and it was the best decision I ever made for my business. The results are fantastic, which means my clients show and tell their friends, which then results in more word-of-mouth clients for the business. Lynton will help and guide you through the process of introducing laser & IPL into your business.

Laser Skin Solutions

Thank you Dr Jon Exley (PhD), Managing Director at Lynton Lasers and Hayley Jones for another invaluable webinar discussing the current recommended changes to our business’s processes and services connected to COVID-19. A great opportunity to take away recommendations that will ensure we can re-open our clinic safely.

Katie , Clinic Director, The Beauty Editor

“Having worked in the industry for years, I knew exactly what ingredients to look for in a partner! Lynton! Your professionalism, dedication, science and care is outstanding! Add to that an amazing team. I am truly grateful.”

Dr. Ahmed, Lead Practitioner, Bank Medispa

In 1999 DEKA pioneered minimally invasive treatment of localised fat deposits by introducing Laserlipolysis® which achieved worldwide success. Today DEKA has taken one step further. DEKA’s unceasing search for new sources and applications has led to the invention of a completely non-invasive system, which specifically destroys the lipocyte membrane, just as the laser did. In very few sessions (usually 4-5), the Coolwaves™ in the ONDA system are extremely effective in reducing the localized accumulations of fat in areas like the abdomen, back, trochanter and lower limbs. And that’s not all! Coolwaves™ make it possible to treat cellulite even in the most advanced stages and skin laxity. This is a completely painless procedure, with no side effects, which is safe and comfortable for my patients, who were enthusiastic about this innovative treatment.

Paolo Bonan, M.D., ESLD Key Officer Education - In Charge of Laser Cutaneous Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery, Villa Donatello Clinic

“It’s very reassuring to know that I have this level of support behind my clinical practice. Not only do I have the utmost confidence in the safety and quality of my machine, but it’s invaluable to know that there is such amazing support behind the scenes too. I’ve been in the industry for a few years now and your customer service exceeds anything I have experienced before.”

Nikki Butler, Medical Tattooist and Skin Specialist, Nikki Butler Skin Clinic

Lynton provides the best quality systems and the best technology. The customer service is also fantastic. This launch programme has given me the right tools to help promote our new system, and it is wonderful to have a network of people to discuss ideas with.

Emma Yarwood, Senior Clinician, The Lynton Clinic

“I am extremely pleased with the extensive support from the fantastic Lynton team during these challenging times. I have had unlimited access to the expertise of their team members including marketing support for social media, the clinic website, on top of general business strategies. As well as meeting one to one to discuss strategies to optimise our services, I have found their online resources and webinars extremely useful. They are truly committed to helping us as a clinic provide clinical excellence to our clients. I would highly recommend utilising their support to its fullest potential to any other members of the Lynton family.”
