BCC, especially superficial types, is common in older patients and typically treated with surgery. However, this can be challenging in frail individuals or complex areas like the neck.
This case describes an 84-year-old man with recurrent superficial BCC near a tracheostomy, previously treated with surgery. Due to high surgical risk, he was treated with CO₂ laser followed by pulsed dye laser (PDL). Healing was smooth, with good cosmetic results and no recurrence at 6 months.
Blepharoplasty is a popular procedure with a strong safety profile. This study evaluated a CO₂ and 1540-nm laser-assisted technique on 38 patients, with results assessed at 6 months.
Most patients (84%) showed marked improvement, with the remainder achieving moderate or slight improvement. No serious side effects were reported.
The findings suggest this combined laser approach is an effective, low-downtime option for improving eyelid and periocular ageing.

This prospective real-world study evaluated the SCAR3 scanning handpiece for fractional CO₂ laser treatment of hypertrophic burn scars in 49 patients. Over a 12-month period, patients showed significant improvements in scar appearance, texture, firmness, adherence and overall satisfaction, with no serious complications reported. The findings suggest that SCAR3 may offer effective, tissue-sparing scar remodelling with strong patient tolerance in routine clinical practice.
