EPN Pen – Microneedling Electroporation Needle

The World’s First Microneedling Pen Combined with Electroporation Technology

This professional microneedling pen is the world’s first medically certified device on the market which combines the benefits of dermal needling with the advanced delivery of Electroporation.

Introduce EPN Pen to your business and increase your revenue by adding one of the most in-demand facial treatments to your portfolio.

Why Choose the EPN Microneedling Pen for Your Business

Electroporation is a technique in which an electrical field is applied to cells in order to increase the permeability of the membranes, allowing products to be introduced into the cell more efficiently.

The combination of Microneedling and Electroporation within one handheld device maximises the production of new collagen and elastin fibres, whilst delivering a safe and minimally invasive treatment for your clients. This revolutionary pairing of technology means that clients’ results are maximised as serums with high molecular weight are induced into deeper dermal layers.

EPN Pen Treatment Options

Additional Electroporation Tip

An additional tip can be purchased for the EPN Pen. It provides Electroporation energy without the needling element of the treatment to achieve the following:

  • Increased absorption of topical products into the deep layers of the skin for faster, more effective clinical results.
  • Completely pain-free.
  • No trauma to the skin.

Electroporation Technology

Electroporation is a technique in which an electrical field is applied across a cell membrane to increase the permeability of the membranes, allowing active ingredients to be introduced into the cell more effectively.

This application of an electrical field results in a temporary change to the cell membrane which allows deeper penetration of topical products into the cell. Electro-impulses create temporary unstable channels within the cell membrane and therefore allow more of the active ingredients used to enter the cell itself.

Its application to the skin has been shown to significantly increase transdermal product delivery. Electroporation can be used alone or in combination with skin Microneedling treatments.

By combining these two techniques you have a disruption of the epidermal boundary to enable enhanced penetration through the (usually) impermeable epidermis and the added enhancement of transportation of active ingredients through electroporation.

Backflow Protected Needle Cartridges

When choosing a Microneedling device to introduce to your clinic it is important to research the safety aspects of these devices and to ensure you choose an option that minimises the risk of cross contamination.

The EPN Pen uses disposable needle tips and backflow-protected needle cartridges to minimise the risk of cross contamination.

Medically Certified Microneedling

EPN Pen is not only the world’s first Microneedling device on the market to combine the benefits of dermal needling with advanced delivery of electroporation but is also a medically certified device. With EPN Pen you can be sure you are offering both safe and effective treatments to your clients.

EPN Pen Medical Grade Microneedles

Medical Grade Microneedles

EPN Pen uses disposable tips which contain 9 x 33G medical grade stainless steel needles. These can be easily adjusted using the control dial on the EPN Pen to enable practitioners to reach a variety of depths in the skin.

Vertical Stamping Application

Unlike Microneedling treatments performed with a dermal roller device, Microneedling pen devices allow practitioners to perform treatments using vertical penetration of the skin. This stamping method is less painful for clients and there is less downtime as it minimises skin irritation.

The vertical stamping application used with EPN Pen reduces the possibility of bleeding post-treatment and allows for more precise treatments around the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Will I need training to use the EPN Pen device?

As well as providing comprehensive theory training for the EPN Pen, Lynton Lasers holds in-depth practical training for users at The Lynton Training Lynton Academy, Cheshire. Throughout this session, you will learn about the variety of methods used to perform Microneedling treatments and will have the opportunity to perform treatments on a selection of models provided. On completion of training, you will receive a certificate which can then be proudly displayed within your clinic.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment used to target a variety of skin conditions on the face and body. Ultrafine needles are used to penetrate the skin at a variety of depths to create a wound healing response. This in turn encourages the skin to produce new collagen and elastin to give patients younger-looking skin.

What is Electroporation technology?

EPN Is the abbreviation for an Electroporation needle. It is a therapy to rejuvenate the skin using microneedles stimulating the dermis without any scarring and boosting the natural skin healing process and collagen production.

Electroporation is a technique in which an electrical field is applied to cells in order to increase the permeability of the membranes, allowing products to be introduced into the cell more efficiently.

Its application to the skin has been shown to significantly increase transdermal product delivery. Electroporation can be used alone or in combination with skin Microneedling which expands the range of products that can be delivered trans-dermally.

How does EPN Pen work?

EPN Pen combines electroporation and Microneedling technology to give clients maximum skin rejuvenating results through the stimulation of the skins own wound healing process and the increased absorption of active ingredient products.

Does Microneedling hurt?

During a Microneedling treatment, there is generally minimal discomfort to the client. You should feel a warming sensation following treatment which will then subside over the course of a few hours. Topical anaesthetics are available for clients with sensitive skin should they wish to apply anything prior to the treatment.

How long does it take to see results from Microneedling?

Some clients feel a difference in the elasticity of their skin in as little as 24 hours. However, the long-lasting results will be seen between 4-6 weeks post-treatment as this is the time frame in which it takes the body to produce new healthy collagen and elastin.

How many EPN Pen treatments will I need?

Treatment intervals and the total number of sessions vary for each client depending on their individual skin concerns. Generally, we would recommend a minimum course of 3 sessions following a review to determine if any further sessions are required.

What can I treat with the EPN pen?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne and surgical scars
  • Skin tone
  • The appearance of stretch marks
  • Skin texture
  • Skin laxity
  • Reduce open pores.

Will my clients need anaesthetic for EPN Pen treatment?

All clients will have a varied pain threshold and therefore some will find the treatment comfortable and not need any anaesthetic. Any clients who do find the treatment uncomfortable are able to use a topical anaesthetic prior to arriving for their treatment. If the needle depth you are using for the treatment is deeper than 1.5mm you may also want to consider asking clients to apply an anaesthetic before coming for their appointment as there may be more discomfort at these levels of Microneedling.

Are there any specific qualifications for Microneedling?

Although there are no legal requirements when it comes to performing Microneedling treatments, you may want to check with your local council and insurance and find out what their requirements are. Most local councils will ask that you register for a special treatment license for skin-piercing treatments. When it comes to insurance companies some will insure providing you have completed the relevant manufacturer training for the device and treat no deeper than 2.0mm. Others may require a beauty or aesthetics background, but not to worry as Lynton have a variety of courses and qualifications to suit all our customer needs. We are also more than happy to provide details of insurers that we are aware of within the industry so that you can contact them and enquire about their specific requirements.

What qualifications do you need to offer Microneedling treatments in the UK?

The Chilgrove Clinic

I am using the EPN pen at least 5 times a week, sometimes more, and skin rejuvenation is the most popular treatment. I have got clients who have been having microneedling with me for a long time, and they have definitely noticed a big difference in terms of results with the EPN pen. I haven’t tried the hair restoration treatment yet, just because I’m so busy with skin treatments.

Karen Johnson MSc, The Chilgrove Clinic

Woman holding EPN Pen device

Thank you for my training on the new EPN Microneedling system. I’ve been looking for over a year for a device as I’ve tried lots of different Microneedling devices before. This one did not disappoint. It’s very easy to use and the fact it’s a deeper more effective treatment is what sold it for me. I’m loving the results after the first treatment, I know it will be very popular in my clinic. The training was very detailed and explained everything about the device and the treatment. Any questions I had, I got a response in less than 24hours. Everyone has been amazing. I’ve been with Lynton for over 7 years now and they definitely don’t disappoint. Their customer service and training are very high standard, along with all the equipment they provide.

I am honoured to be the owner of the second clinic in the UK to receive this Microneedling device. The EPN Pen is easy to use, with great results and less downtime than my previous devices. The training was excellent and I love the serum, very little needed to achieve the right amount of glide and results.
