Introducing Light Fade – An Answer To Excess Melanin Production

24th November 2023

Light Fade Skin Serum for Pigmentation Treatment

Reduce Melanin and Excess Pigmentation

As dedicated skincare practitioners, we understand the impact excess melanin production and pigmentation concerns can have on achieving the radiant complexion your clients desire. We are always looking to improve the pigmentation treatment options for clinics and clients so that they get even better results

This is why we are delighted to introduce Light Fade, our new skincare serum.

Light Fade is a topical serum designed to be used alongside laser/IPL pigmentation treatments to enhance the effect and longevity of results. It has been created and formulated by skincare experts to address your needs as practitioners and elevate the pigmentation control strategies you are able to offer to your clients.

Why Your Clients May Benefit From Light Fade

While sun exposure in moderation has its benefits, it is crucial to strike a balance between soaking in the sun’s rays for essential vitamin D absorption and safeguarding the skin against potential harm. The British Skin Foundation says lighter skin types (1-3 on the Fitzpatrick scale) benefit from 10-15 minutes of daily sunlight exposure without increasing the risks of sunburn and skin cancer. Those with darker skin (types 4-6) need around 25-40 minutes to ensure adequate vitamin D absorption due to variations in melanin levels.

Melanin is a natural skin pigment produced by melanocytes but excessive sun exposure damages melanocytes, causing them to produce too much melanin. The effect of this excess melanin darkens the skin, resulting in what we call a ‘tan’. Beyond these recommended time frames, excessive sun exposure poses a substantial risk, accelerating premature ageing and causing the breakdown of essential skin proteins. It’s evident that a thoughtful approach to sun exposure and tailored skincare is vital to maintaining skin health.

Excess melanin and pigmentation can also be caused by medical conditions (such as melasma/chloasma), certain medications, or clients can even be born with it (also known as “congenital”).

Whether the cause of pigmentation is environmental, medical, or congenital, the core of Light Fade’s efficacy lies in its potent blend of carefully selected ingredients aimed at combating melanin production.  This revolutionary serum is your go-to solution for inhibiting melanin, lightening dark spots, and promoting a more balanced complexion.

The Benefits Of Light Fade

Light Fade’s unique formulation offers a myriad of benefits, including:

Pigmentation Suppression

Targeting melanin production at its source, Light Fade actively suppresses pigmentation, ensuring a more even and radiant complexion.

Dark Spot Lightening

With a focus on inhibiting the enzymes responsible for dark spots, this serum visibly lightens areas of hyperpigmentation. This promotes a clearer, more even skin tone.

Dual-Action Soothing

Thanks to liquorice extract (which we will discuss further in the next section), Light Fade not only tackles pigmentation but also soothes irritation, offering a holistic approach to skincare.

UV Ray Protection

As Light Fade is a combination of pigment suppression and an SPF50, it offers superior skin protection from potentially harmful UVA and UVB rays.

How Light Fade Keeps Melanin Production At Bay

Light Fade, developed by our skincare experts, uses a range of carefully chosen ingredients to achieve these aims, which include:

Alpha Arbutin

Derived from hydroquinone, Alpha Arbutin takes the lead in the battle against pigmentation. By inhibiting the enzyme responsible for melanin synthesis, it effectively fades dark spots, contributing to a visibly even skin tone.

Kojic Dipalmitate

This stable form of Kojic Acid acts as a powerful skin brightener. By hindering the activity of tyrosinase, the enzyme pivotal to melanin production, Kojic Dipalmitate reduces dark spots and enhances overall skin tone.

Liquorice Extract (Glycyrrhiza Glabra)

Boasting skin-loving compounds like glabridin, Liquorice Extract is a dual-action hero. Not only does it lighten the skin, but it also soothes irritation.

Citric Acid

As an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), Citric Acid plays a crucial role in exfoliation. By promoting cell turnover and gently fading dark spots, it contributes to improved skin texture and tone.
