How a Flexible Microneedling Machine Enables More Treatments for all Skin Types

18th March 2022

Flexible Microneedling Machine

A professional microneedling machine that offers versatility enables customisation of treatments to more effectively address a wider range of aesthetic concerns for all skin types.

Focus Dual® offers practitioners the ability to choose from both insulated and non-insulated needle tips, to deliver radiofrequency energy to the deepest skin’s layers. This is how Focus Dual® is able to lift, firm and tighten the skin.

As well as the flexibility to select from insulated and non-insulated needles, the amount of radiofrequency energy that is released can also be adjusted. The needle delivery depth can also target areas ranging from 0.5mm-3.55mm. This uncompromised versatility allows for the desired energy to be placed through every layer of the skin, thus providing patients with exceptional results. With this device, practitioners will gain the ability to address a huge range of aesthetic concerns for all skin types.

The Focus Dual® features unique vacuum suction technology, which allows for ultra-fine 0.16mm needles to smoothly, safely, and effectively deliver heat energy to the target area for optimal results. This precision enhances patient comfort and safety by reducing any unnecessary damage to the epidermis.

What is the difference between insulated and non-insulated needles?

Focus Dual Insulated Needles

Insulated microneedles have a layer of insulation around them, allowing heat to only be emitted from the tip. Heating only the lower layers of the skin, protecting the epidermis. These needles allow for safer treatment in individuals with darker skin types (4-6 on the Fitzpatrick scale), who are at higher risk of hyperpigmentation following treatment. The insulated needle tip allows for more versatility when treating concerns such as skin laxity as heat can be focused within the dermis, sparing the integrity of the epidermis.

Focus Dual Non-Insulated Needles

On the other hand, non-insulated microneedles emit radiofrequency energy over their entire surface area, which allows both the upper and lower layers of the skin to be heated at once. This means heat is generated along the full length of the needles, giving a better thermal effect without the need for multiple passes at different depths. Non-insulated needles can provide patients with better results due to the increased heat that is applied to multiple layers of the skin.

Non-insulated needles are also believed to reduce pinpoint bleeding, this is because effective coagulation occurs throughout the dermal portion of the needle. When this occurs, the risk of post-treatment infection is drastically reduced due to the fact the small capillaries in the upper layers of skin are sealed during the treatment process. Read more in our blog post on Insulated vs. Non-Insulated Microneedles.

With Focus Dual® you now have the ability to customise the needle to the patient’s skin type and concern.

Expansion of Premises to Facilitate Entry into Export Markets

To facilitate its entry into new export markets, Lynton Lasers Ltd required increased manufacturing space, as well as new demonstration and training facilities. To this end, LEADER Funding was applied for, and won, to support the refurbishment of an adjacent business unit (Unit 9d) as well as the re-arrangement and refurbishment of the existing business unit (Unit 6) on Holmes Chapel Business Park.
